MGR II EH & S
Duties:
EHS Structure & Program Management
l Build action plans for the implementation of EHS programs and take a leadership role in delivering EHS goals and strategy.
l Establish and develop teams for driving EHS improvements and managing EHS programs, including site safety and environmental committees; energy teams and; behavioral safety teams.
l Drive EHS initiatives to achieve the organization’s goals and strategy.
l Audit and evaluate the performance of the EHS management system.  Create and drive action plans to implement identified corrective actions.
l Establish systems for monitoring and auditing EHS performance throughout the organization and provide timely and 100% compliance with company policies and EHS legislation.
l Establish and implement monitoring procedures for changes in EHS legislation applicable and ensure the EHS management system is updated to ensure compliance.
l Create EHS metrics where needed that drive improvements in EHS performance, e.g. near hit reporting, behavioral safety scorecards, ergonomic assessment, risk assessment data, environmental permit data, hazard reporting, etc.

Continuous Process Improvement
l Participate in EHS inspections and audits.  Facilitate incident investigations and advise management on appropriate corrective actions.
l Participate in risk assessments, advising risk assessment teams on the assessment process; quantification of risks; prioritizing risks for action and effective risk control measures.
l Use managerial courage, technical knowledge, motivation and influencing skills to ensure EHS values, standards and behaviors are maintained.
l Drive process improvements that result in EHS performance improvements

Establish & Track Metrics/KPI’s
l Report all required EHS data to site, BU management, BU EHS, corporate EHS and government.
l Integrate reporting into existing business reporting systems to ensure employees, EHS teams are informed of EHS performance, incidents, programs and initiatives
l Monitor and report organizational safety performance against the Safety Tool.
l Evaluate and report environmental performance timely using the environmental assessment tools.


Lead Continuous Learning and People Development
l Build effective EHS team, establish succession planning for EHS within the organization.
l Allocate and balance work across direct reports, review and provide timely performance feedback to subordinate, coach, guide, develop and motivate them. 
l Develop skills of direct reports and others with EHS responsibilities in the organization.
l Plan and deliver EHS training to create the competencies needed to deliver the EHS program.
l Engage with management and employees to drive EHS programs and performance improvements.
l Support and guide employees to enable them to work safely, comply with regulations,  policies and specifications and support environmental sustainability goals.


Waste Water Treatment ?
l Responsible for the operation of Waste Water Treatment. Ensure the discharge of waste water and waste gas align with relevant regulations.
l Lead WWT team to reduce the discharge of waste water and waste gas continuously.

l tasks and processes having current and up to date risk assessments
l tasks having ergonomic assessments 
l Amount, relevance and quality of EHS training


EXPERIENCE
l ?Minimum 8+ years of EH&S experience required 
l ?Minimum 5+ years of experience managing EH&S. Preferably at a site level.
l ?Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, collaboration and team building skills preferred
l ?Demonstrated ability in conducting audits and inspections of all aspects of EHS throughout a Site


EDUCATION
l ?University degree or equivalent level of qualification in safety, health, or an environmental discipline
l ?If a degree is in a related technical or engineering field, but not specific to EHS, then a recognized post graduate qualification (e.g. Masters Degree, etc.) in an environmental or health and safety discipline is required. 
l ?Professional EHS Certification (e.g. Chartered Safety Practitioner, Certified Safety Professional, etc.)
