Robert J. Easton to Serve as Panelist at the NYBA 20th Annual Meeting
At the New York Biotechnology Association’s 20th Annual Meeting on April 6-7, 2011, Robert J. Easton will participate in two panels entitled “From Kickoff to Closing: Taking Steps to Sell or Go Public” and “Progress in Autoimmune Disorders.”
From Kickoff to Closing: Taking Steps to Sell or Go Public
Panel Abstract: This panel will discuss how life sciences companies preparing to go public or put themselves up for sale need to plan at least one year, and sometimes more, in advance. While several steps will overlap as they will be relevant to both the IPO process and the company sale process, some steps will be more relevant to a sale or an IPO. Another form of going public to be discussed is the utilization of a reverse merger with a public shell corporation, enabling the company to enter the capital market quickly and provide an exit strategy for the private company investors. We will explore the state of the IPO, reverse merger, and sale markets and consider and prioritize the steps that should be taken to best prepare for these eventualities.
