Paying (and Not Paying) for Expensive New Therapies
Source: NYBA ANNUAL MEETING, NEW YORK, NY
Health care in the U.S. is broken. On the one hand there is demand from patients for ever-more sophisticated (and expensive) products and technologies; on the other hand payers' funds are not limitless and capacity constraints are inevitable. In Europe, particularly in France, Germany and the U.K., new governmental organizations have been charged with ensuring that cost-efficacy is measured together with quality in determining national protocols for best medical practice. Scisive Consulting examines the successes (and failures) of these organizations in containing costs while optimizing care, and considers the implications for health care in the U.S. Please request a free copy of the Scisive presentation #0904 at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
